Myosteopractic recognises two broad emotional categories: Sudden emotion: eg. anger, fear, shock, etc Chronic emotion: eg. anxiety, depression, resentment, often arising from primal issues, work stress, relationships, moving home, death, etc A typical emotional response sees the body tightening in order to armour itself. This may result in hunched shoulders, contracted chest, clenched muscles of the buttocks, clenched hands, tight jaw, etc. Depending on the emotion held, various parts of the body will tighten and posture will distort accordingly. Certain emotions will be held in the organs. (Typically, anger in the liver, worry in the spleen, fear in the kidneys, etc). Myosteopractic may check and release the diaphragm, cervicals (neck), lower back where the diaphragm attaches, organ reflex points. In addition, it may include releasing the jaw, respiratory system, and shoulders, as well as postural imbalances using cross release and myofascia release techniques.
